    Madison stole things. Often.
She started stealing from her family, mostly her sister. Hair ties, jewelry, sometimes even clothes that she never wore for fear of getting caught. Once she was confident, she went into the big leagues. Downtown was full of shops, most of which didn't have a very complex security system. Clothes, jewelry, shoes, batteries...anything she could fit inconspicuously in her tote. And never caught once.
There was one shop she had never stolen from, though; Magical Naturals. It was some sort of...hippie, all-natural, home-made, cruelty free shop. Natural fiber scarves, candles made with real bergamot and beeswax, the like. Not really Madison's scene. One person worked there, and there was only one thing she wanted in there, which was very close to the entrance. It was an easy steal, she thought, and so she made plans to rob it.
The little bell on the door jingled when she entered. The place looked just how she expected it to: twine everywhere, plants of all kinds, wooden furniture with peeling white paint, and more candles than she had ever seen. The whole place smelled dry and herbal, like an abandoned flower shop. In one window hung a wooden sign in big black print: "THIEVES WILL NOT BE TOLERATED," followed by the consequences and probably a fine in smaller print. Madison's eyes didn't dwell to long on it. She wouldn't need to face any consequences with how skilled she was.
Near the back of the store was a counter, behind which was a woman flipping through a book. Her hair was black and wildly curled, and her skin was tanned. She looked rather young, in her twenties, and had square glasses perched on her nose. She wore a black tank top, acid washed jean jacket, and a long, floral print skirt made of some thin fabric in shades of red and pink. She didn't pay much attention to Madison, being focused on her book, which she flipped the pages of idly.
After a bit of browsing, so she didn't look suspicious, Madison made her way over to her prize.
On a small wooden table by the front doors sat a little display of necklaces and bracelets. Madison didn't care about the others. Her eyes were on a little silver chain with a round amethyst amulet on the end. It sparkled in the sunshine, the gemstone glimmering in cloudy shades of violet and magenta. She touched the other bits and baubles first, then swiftly palmed the necklace into her jacket sleeve with barely a sound. She browsed a few minutes more, then made her exit.
    "Nothing catch your eye?"
Madison was halfway out the door when the woman at the counter spoke. Her head jolted back to see the woman hadn't even looked up from her book.
"No, nothing," Madison responded quickly. Mere moments after she spoke, the doors in front of her closed tight. She pulled on the handle frantically to no avail. The doors wouldn't budge.
"Of course." The woman stood up and stalked toward Madison, her sandals slapping loudly on the hard floor. "You'd rather steal than buy anything, right?"
Madison couldn't speak. She was frozen with fear. "I-I'm sorry, ma'm," she managed to choke out. "Please don't send me to jail, take it back! I'll never steal again!" Her hand shook as she thrust the necklace out toward the shop owner.
"No, no, keep it. I trust you'll never steal again. In fact, I think you'll prevent people from stealing again." She grabbed the necklace and put it over Madison's neck. The amethyst pendant glowed brightly. "I think it looks great on you. And I think it'll look even better on your new body."
"W-what?" Madison's eyes were wide. Looking in the mirror, she saw the gray blue of her iris shift to brown, and her dark pupils grow larger. She shrieked with fear, next seeing tall brown ears poke up through her honey brown locks.
A poking at the seat of her leggings signaled a long, feathery brown and black tail poking up from her tailbone. She wagged it a few times on impulse, and flattened her ears. "What are you doing to me?" she whimpered.
"Making you my guard dog, of course! You should have known the consequences, dear." The woman smiled and laughed, watching Madison's distressed reactions to her changing body. "But don't worry, you'll love your transformed body when it's over. You'll never imagine you were ever even human."
Madison gasped. Her hands felt tight, morphing into paws with little claws and hard black pads. The same happened to her feet, which shrunk so they no longer fit into her huge shoes. The structure of her arms and legs changed shape, forcing her onto four paws. On her face, her nose and mouth grew out into a long muzzle with a black nose on the end. Brown and black fur sprouted with a tingling, itching feeling, covering her body with soft hairs. With a pop, her breasts shrunk back onto her chest, making her flat. On her stomach appeared six small pink teats.
With a few more pops and the feeling of something thick in the air, the feeling of magic, Madison stood as a tall German Shepherd on the floor of the shop.
"Good girl." The woman grinned at her work, zapping the rest of Madison's clothes off with a wave of her hand. Another wave turned the necklace into a purple collar with a little silver tag on it reading: MADISON. "You should've known what would happen if you tried to steal from a witch! But I'm kind of glad you did."
With another self-satisfied smile, she hung a new sign in the window: BEWARE OF DOG, OR YOU MAY END UP AS ONE!
